Caffeinated Calendar 1.3.2

Caffeinated Calendar 1.3.2: drag tasks onto the calendar to create events, linked task and event chips, an ICS import picker, and a new Widget theme preference for Android and iOS.

Version 1.3.2 follows up on the v1.3.1 release with a handful of practical improvements across desktop, iOS, and Android.

Drag tasks onto the calendar (Desktop)

  • Drag a task from the sidebar onto Day, Week, or Month to create an event from it, or to set the task’s start or due date. A new Tasks preference in Settings picks the default action so you can stop being asked each time. Thanks to Tai for the suggestion.

Linked tasks and events (Desktop, iOS, Android)

  • Events you create from a task remember the source. Tap the “Linked task” chip on the event, or the “Linked event” chip on the task, to jump between them. The link rides along with CalDAV sync, so your other devices see it too.

Importing ICS files (Desktop)

  • When you import an .ics file, whether from File > Import ICS, by opening one from Thunderbird, or by dragging it from your file manager onto a calendar view, Caffeinated Calendar now asks which calendar to put it in, with your default pre-selected.
  • Re-importing the same event after deleting it no longer fails silently.

Widget theme (Android, iOS)

  • New Widget theme preference in Widget Options picks System, Light, or Dark, independently of the app’s theme. Run the app in Light mode and keep your widgets in Dark (or vice versa).
  • iOS widgets gained a light palette so the new preference actually has something to switch between.
  • On Android, widget titles that disappeared on some launchers in dark mode are readable again. Thanks to yarodin for the report.
